Is Studying Korean Worth It?

I've been studying Korean on and off for the last couple months, and I'm at a very beginner level in the language. (~500 words) Korean is quite the interesting language to me as it's somewhere I want to go in the future, and I enjoy the movies/tv shows/music. Other than that, I have no strong reason for learning the language. Recently, I've been seeing a lot of stuff online about how most (young) Koreans are (somewhat) proficient in English, and how most of them prefer to converse in English when possible to improve their skills. I've also been seeing a trend where I'm noticing a lot of Englishs signs in the movies/tv shows I've been watching. I've also been eyeing the Japanese language for culture similar reasons. So, is it still worth it to learn Korean? With a large amount of Koreans wanting to speak English, and a lot of important signs in South Korea already being translated, should I continue to put my effort into one of the most difficult languages for a smaller payout than Japanese? Just don't want to regret my choice 2+ years down the line. Of course, I'm aware it all comes down to preference, and I know Korean will be far from completely useless. I'm just not sure if I want to put all this effort into a language where most of the young native speakers already have some degree of English proficiency. Thanks for your input!
