My friends ex hated all his friends (including me)

So I've been friends with this guy for years as we were neighbors, and a while ago he got a girlfriend and see was not that good of a person to any of his friends (including me) but me and the friends didn't say anything. Then she started rumors about me dating another person in the friend group - which basically ended it. We privately told my friend, only for his girlfriend to start new rumors about me being a man-w####. (At the time I had never dated or been in a relationship or anything)

Later she broke up with him, but still said she loved him. Even tried to say that they should get back together later in the year when she's less busy. (with sports). All this just for a mutual friend told him that he's dating her now.

Afterward people still kept not talking to me and hating on me online and irl, but thankfully my friend realized that the relationship wasn't the best and he's better now. (She basically abused him verbally and a couple times physically.)
