Are these dealerships scamming us?

Our car is not in warranty anymore, its like a 2018 CRV. We still get it serviced at the dealership, and we had a full diagnostics check and the brakes redone for 900 AUD at the Springwood dealership which has now shut down.

For weeks the brakes have sounded horrific, so we take it to the Mt Gravatt Honda and they admit the previous service was screwed up and everything needs to be redone for 1800. We're shocked and ask for the previous service's price to be removed, they only take off 580.

Then they call us back an hour later and there's a new problem that will cost us 1900 more.

Everything was supposed to be fixed and/or identified by the Springwood Honda dealership as we had a full service there less than a month ago. The dealership claims all of them are independent and we'd have to take it up with the Springwood Honda, which we obviously can't do. He claims they are all independent so its Springwood's fault.

We call Honda support and they claim there is nothing they can do as the car is out of warranty, even though this is not a warranty issue. We say the mt gravatt HONDA dealership is not taking any responsibility for work done by a HONDA dealership. They keep saying they can't help us.

We spoke to the manager at Mt Gravatt and he says the same things.

What do we do????
