Withdrew from university, went to community college, and unsure what to do next

Advice/Question

Hello! Apologies if this isn’t the right sub for this. I’m a film major and for my freshman year, I committed to a UC and did my full year there. However, due to financial reasons I unfortunately had to withdraw from that university for sophomore year, but to continue my studies I decided to enroll into my local community college instead. My cc counselor did help me create an education plan (but only to receive my Associates and not for transferring which would require additional courses). Based on said education plan, I’ve basically got two semesters left at cc and now I’ve been having a dilema about what to do with cc (just get my Associates or complete courses required to transfer, which may add an additional semester at cc) and where to go once I’m done there, whether I should return to my original university or apply and transfer elsewhere. Before withdrawing from my UC, I spoke to the admissions office and I was told that I’d actually just be able to be readmitted and that an entire transfer application wouldn’t be necessary to get back in, so going back to my original university would be the easiest route. However the downside to that is that many of the major courses I’m taking at cc don’t have equal courses at my UC, so (from my understanding, if I’m wrong please do correct me!!) I’d have to take all other courses required to complete my BA at my UC which will stack on top of what doesn’t count from cc; to put it simply I fear I may go over the max unit requirements (because I do also have some high school dual enrollment credits). To make things worse, I don’t even think I want to continue doing film as my major, but I also don’t know what I’d major in instead and how that would affect me. Has anyone ever been in a situation like this? Who should I speak to? Should I just take a gap year to figure everything out? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
