My Hong Kong ping increased after the UI update, has anybody noticed a similar thing?

I know it is quite a while ago, but after the new UIs came out, my hong kong server ping (which used to be around 40ms) is now around 80ms. Has anybody living in Japan, or near Japan come across a similar problem, or am I alone on this?
