Why use old analogue cameras?
Today I bought a digital camera. It is a Nikon, or Jagaimo, as the Japanese say, and while thumbing through an underwear catalogue while pretending to read the manual I suddenly thought of the Japanese concept of Kidotta taido, or being a pretentious twat. It forced me to think of myself not in terms of photography, but in terms of ramen, or, as the Japanese say, ramen, and think of myself as a wet noodle, on a journey, drifting down the endless gullet of the world while sitting down, holding my camera on my lap, grinding gently, always gently... There's probably a Japanese word for that but Google Translate wasn't helpful... Did I mention I have a Rolleiflex?
