How to know when to end it F19 M20

Me and my boyfriend have been together since 2022 and we didn’t start as long distance we both lived in Adelaide. He moved to Perth in 2024 with his family and we’ve been doing ldr for a year. He has always told me that he doesn’t like long distance and that he is bad at it. To keep in mind we have broken up before because he didn’t want to do the distance. And he was the one to contact me.The other day I brought up that after he got back from visiting me he just calls me and we sit in silence and he doesn’t ask how my day was or what I did. He said it’s because he forgot. I want us to keep going because we both agree we are great in person. But he’s saying he doesn’t know if he can keep doing ldr. His reasoning to keep going is because he doesn’t want to leave me because we have been together for so long and he doesn’t want to start with someone new. And I honestly don’t know if that’s a good or bad thing. I just don’t know what to do, I don’t want to lose a great relationship due to distance but I don’t want to be with someone who isn’t wanting to do the distance. We have plans in the future to move together after finishing uni. Everything would be perfect if he wasn’t like this I’m scared of being blindsided by him breaking up with me again.
