Using an ad blocker actually helps advertisers, not hurts them

Everyone thinks ad blockers hurt the advertising industry. They don't. You're doing them a favor

Advertisers pay per impression or per click. Block the ad, they never get charged. You just removed yourself from the system. Their money isn't wasted on someone who was never going to buy anyway.

You know what actually costs them money? You seeing the ad and ignoring it. That tanks their click-through rates, makes their campaigns look bad, and the algorithm starts charging them more. You ignoring their ad is way more expensive than you never seeing it.

Right now about 30-40% of users have ad blockers. At that level you're just cleaning up their audience for free removing the people least likely to buy, making the remaining 60-70% look more engaged. If a store owner could magically keep out window shoppers and only let in buyers, they would. That's what ad blockers do.

I checked my own numbers, apparently advertisers have spent over $90,000 targeting me over my lifetime. I use an ad blocker. I never click ads. I never buy from ads. Without the blocker, that $90K would've been wasted on me anyway. With it, they saved the money for someone who might actually convert.

The people ad blockers actually hurt? Publishers and creators. The ad never loads, the publisher loses revenue, the advertiser saves money. When people say ad blockers fight the system, they're fighting the wrong part of it.

Ad blockers only threaten advertisers if adoption hits 80-90%. At 30-40%? You're just doing their audience segmentation for free.
