Redcross did me dirty

Rant/Vent

So I was with redcross for the last few months and up until Friday, I wouldn’t say it was great, it was manageable. Enjoyed the work I did, my co workers for the most part and the traveling was something I could get over. Anyways, I was recently fired over false allegations of misconduct and “evidence” that they couldnt provide. Funny timing because, last week i injured myself on a blood drive, my car was damaged in their parking lot and they knew I had 2 months left before I went to military training. Just the day before my firing, my regional manager let me have the day off to get my car looked at and told me to keep in touch, which i planned and when I got a call the next morning, he told me he has all these allegations against me from some of the people who are also employed there, and yes they do act like a high school clique, if you’re not apart of it, you’re a target. I told him it was complete bullshit(although looking back, probably not the best response, I was just confused and taken aback back allegations) and that he was surprised I was acting defensive.

Mind you, these are the same girls who, while we’re driving to a blood drive together, talk about how they have to take a sh*t so bad that it’s “poking their panties” so everyone in the car can hear them, alot of them smoke weed in the Red Cross vehicles before/during/after blood drives, and they tell me I’m “unprofessional” at work. There’s tons of other things I could say that they do, even right in front of our regional manager and our site supervisor that is inappropriate, but it ok because they’ve been there longer. I’ve always been as helpful as I could, sure I asked for a lot of adjustments and help, but I wouldn’t risk a donors safety for my own ego. For those looking to get into phlebotomy or even considering learning, the Red Cross has vipers lurking within it, especially those who have time under their belts working there. Beware.
