What do you look for in a local church?

Over the past year, I have encountered a number of single christian men online who are not part of a local church which made things a little difficult as this was a preference of mine. The most common reasons

1. church has no young people
2. it didn't feel right
3. church hurt
4. not necessary for salvation so not looking

My church doesn't have single young men either and it would be nice if there were some but I would not stop going to church for this because I believe it is a secondary issue despite my strong desire for marriage.

Have you experienced this? If you have not found a local church yet , what is missing ?
