WIBTA for Leaving My Struggling Family
WIBTA for Leaving My Struggling Family?
I (38M) hit a rough patch in my early 30s and had to move in with my sister (34f). For four years she covered everything- rent, food, car, utilities, parents utilities, etc. My business wasn't working, and I don't have the constitution for a regular job. But not being able to contribute was eating me alive with guilt and depression.
After 4 years, I guess she got fed up and gave me a job in her business. I did well and was soon able to cover about a third of our expenses while paying down debt and saving. I've done this now for three years.
Now I'm ready to move out of state with my gf and restart life but sister and our widowed mom are bitter and upset about not only losing the only man in their life but also my financial support. I contributed a lot in the past, before I fell on hard times, and just can't keep holding them up anymore.
They're both completely broke and barely getting by, but I can't stay and help forever. I might try to send some money back home from time to time but no guarantees. WIBTA for moving out?
