Was the player an orphan?

Idk It’s just a hunch, I believe I saw something that made me think what if… like they didn’t kill the orphans during the hour of joy so who’s not to say that some of them escaped? And since it’s implied to be several years later it wouldn’t be that improbable that the player would be an adult now… I could be completely wrong if I’m missing anything, but if it turns out he was an orphan I wouldn’t be surprised . If anyone can add onto or debunk this please do so
