cosmetology at community college in fall, or esthetician at a beauty school faster?

i know the tuition at my local college is cheaper, but if i'm lucky i'll start in september, and there may be a waitlist (i have orientation in a couple days to find out). i'm really only interested in makeup and potentially nails, although i like to play in my own hair, i've done it for friends and disliked it. i'm also only planning to do cosmetology my entire life, so i don't think it would be the worst thing in the world to start lower and work my way up. but really, i'm just rationalizing all of that because i'm tired of being unemployed and i want to get into work asap. my biggest goal is to work on sets since i live in a busy film area, but i can't really think about that right now. i guess i wonder if anyone has any advice, sorry for venting a lot. nobody in my family did much more than high school and i'm young just trying to figure life out the smartest way.
