AI headshots for actors - genuinely useful for anything or not worth the risk?
Headshot costs are brutal in this industry. Proper sessions run $300-600 minimum and you need them constantly new looks, updated age ranges, different character types.
Saw AI headshot tool being discussed in a few acting communities. The general feeling seemed to be "maybe for personal use but not for submissions." But nobody gave specifics on what the actual quality issues were.
Tried one myself for some lower-stakes uses personal website, social profiles. Results were better than expected for that purpose but I wouldn't feel confident submitting them to casting.
Is that the general consensus? Useful for secondary stuff but traditional photography still necessary for actual submissions?
