snowman's lament
A snowman's posture tilts, his chin droops down.
Exhausted clearly soon he will collapse.
He's overworked his clothes are stained all brown
He fights to stay upright as days elapse
A snow is daily, new and fresh unturned.
The children play with recent peers just birthed.
Our friend cant help but crave that life he yearned,
his skills unused a bitter truth unearthed.
And now, he burns with envy, fire within.
Himself as kindling, body dripping quick.
His nose, an ember, dim remnant, has been.
The result, life un-lived he's dying sick.
What once was effort praised, It strong and true
is now a clump of mud that's bubbling blue.
