Last minute opportunity to go the Galapagos in April: Help!
Hello sub! I have an upcoming work trip to Cuenca, Ecuador. I need to be there by April 6th and my company told me I could extend my flight for personal travel. I'm flying from Mexico City (taking Aeroméxico's direct flight) to arrive to Quito and thought about visiting the Galapagos to take advantage of this opportunity.
In that sense, I'm planning to arrive earlier to Quito in order to fly to The Galapagos. I've been told to arrive to San Cristobal. I would like to be in the Galápagos Islands for 5-6 days.
Given that this is so last minute, I'm overwhelmed by all the possibilities. I'm able to travel around 7-8 days prior to arriving to Cuenca. What kind of itinerary (whether land or cruise based) would you guys recommend? I know I won't be able to see it all but I was wondering if its worth it to travel.
For contexts: I am a 29 y/o female, travelling solo so safety is a big concern of mine. I do not know how to scuba dive but would like to scuba, I love to hike and would like to contemplate nature. Budget and accommodation wise, I am not a rough explorer and like to be confortable and eat well. I can spend around 2000 USD for a week.
Any help would be deeply appreciated!!!!
