Girls, would you ever consider dating a guy like me? (17M Advice)
Hi, I’m 17M and I’m writing this to genuinely ask for advice, especially from girls around my age.
I was born with a cleft palate, so my speech isn’t very clear. When I try to talk, people sometimes don’t understand me and just stare or look confused. It really hurts and makes me feel embarrassed, and because of that I’ve become very quiet over the years.
I don’t have many close friends. The few I do have don’t always take me seriously. No one really initiates conversations with me. I’ve honestly never talked to a girl in my life — not even casually. All my childhood I felt invisible to everyone around me. No one approached me, and I was always just kind of “there.”
I’ll be honest — I don’t think I’m attractive. With how high beauty standards seem today, it feels impossible to match them. Sometimes I start thinking maybe I’m just meant to live alone forever without ever experiencing what it’s like to have a girl like me.
I’m not looking for pity. I just want honest advice. Would a girl ever genuinely like a guy like me? Do speech and looks matter that much? Or is there something I should focus on improving?
And if anyone here just wants to be friends, I’d honestly be happy about that too.
Thank you for reading.
