is low sens really that important?

i just recently started playing valo (lvl12) and im the kinda guy who plays and masters every game on default settings, but my friend who started playing at the time i did plays at low settings and the pros ive seen also play on low, i know its a slow paced game but still, i like playing on around the default mark and thats the way i like playing, i know im here to stay and want to know if i should go on this way or low my sens before its too late,.
