I just fumbled a phone call

My mum passed over my phone number to one of her friends who worked in engineering and they then passed it over to someone who then contacted me.

The lady who contacted me studied engineering and asked if I wanted to chat. I said yes, and she ended up calling me and I feel like I completely fumbled and made a bad first impression.

I thought I was prepared with questions, but I ended up blanking and there were some awkward moments and I rambled alottt to fill the silence. How do I come back from this and turn it around
