issues logging into uni email on phone

i primarily use my laptop for uni stuff and have a passkey on it to login (fingerprint) but have recently tried to login to outlook/canvas on my iphone for convenience. however it never works and always says that i cannot verify using my biometric indicator or whatever and that it is either timed out or not allowed, how do i fix this? never have any issues on my laptop
