First time jailbreaker. Need advice

Hi everyone! I recently dug out my iPhone 4 and i originally was planning on using it as a iPod and a digital camera, however I realized I wanna do something I never was able to do as a child, and that is jailbreak it.

My main question is, what iOS version is best for this in 2026? I am currently running iOS 7.1.2 and it's hot garbage, I just want to be able to use some modern day apps for fun secondary use for nostalgia sake, and get it running a little quicker, i know not to expect modern day phone speeds and reliability

I'm willing to downgrade iOS, all help is appreciated!
