A bit lost and unsure how to proceed in my search.

Hey all,

I'm at a point where I have baptism records for my Canadian G0 as well as my American G1, along with birth certificates for G6-G9, but I'm feeling pretty stuck and lost when it comes to the middle. What documents are actually necessary for these middle generations? what value do census records have? Is there anything specific that I should be looking out for besides baptism records and birth certificates?

Any advice would be appreciated. thank you.
