College Essay Advice

Hey y’all please read until the end!

Prompt: Describe a topic, idea, or concept you find so engaging that it makes you lose all track of time. Why does it captivate you? What or who do you turn to when you want to learn more?

I love Costco. I absolutely love it. I have lots of fond memories really.

1. I saw the credit cards by the returns desk and then one time while we were eating a hotdog by the food court, I asked by dad how credit cards work.
2. This one is funny. I really wanted a shower-head from Costco for Christmas. I asked my dad how does Santa never run out of money to buy every kid in the world their Christmas gift and how does he manage to conduct a multinational logistic operation in just one day.
3. Going every Sunday after Church to do the weekly-run on groceries at Costco and trying out every single sample as if it was an international buffet.
4. The logistic efficiency of the warehouse- how they manage to have such a high output of rotisseries chickens to satisfy the demand, or how they are so quick at the checkout.

These are some of the thoughts I have had of Costco as I have aged. 1 is my youngest self. 4 my oldest.

What I was thinking is that I can use Costco as a vehicle to showcase how it has shaped my curiosity over time.

My desired major would be either Economics or Politics, Philosophy and Economics.

Costco allowed me to understand how multiple systems work. The warehouse condensed, financial, logistical, cultural and psychological systems in one wall.

I can then connect this to my extracurriculars. For example I created an organizational system within a spreadsheet for my debate team, or led a marketing campaign for a nonprofit I am involved in. What do y'all think?
