Movies & Empty Revolvers?

Maybe a dumb question, but it’s something I’ve noticed in movies.

When a character points a revolver toward the camera and you can see the front face of the cylinder, the chambers often look like empty dark holes.

In a typical loaded revolver (like a .38 or .357), should you usually be able to see the bullet noses in the chambers from the front? Or is it actually normal for them to look empty depending on the angle/lighting?

I ask movie making Reddit and they call me a lunatic but I’m a sucker for fidelity in movies and am curious if this is a thing?
