Manhattan Associates (ManhProd)
My warehouse just recently switched to Manhattan associates, we had been using ERP (Oracle). I am a inventory analyst and Manhattan does cycle counting in the WMS system, whereas in ERP all the counts were put into Excel to execute by pulling the OH first thing in the morning and of course we counted during normal operations, which led to lots of 2nd counts, then research, and then often an audit. So basically a location could have been counted 4 times to verify a variance before any adjustments to inventory.
Basically my question is does anyone have experience with Manhattan on the IC side? Seems to me the system makes manual "paper counts" obsolete, basing that off the fact that once you arrive at a location to CC its basically frozen and your count will be 100% correct no matter if someone picked before you got there or after you got there. To me the next step is just to reconcile any variances, not put manual counts in Excel for the team to execute a second count based off of frozen in time data while operating from a fully live system.
If I am wrong on this theory I want to be corrected, but if I am correct I am going to speak up louder about how they are unknowingly trashing our inventory by doing things the now new way and the old way. If you've made it this far I appreciate you taking the time out of your day.
