How to start a side hustle

Within the past year I had got this strong interest for photography out of nowhere and bought a Sony A6700 and two lenses, sigma 18mm-50mm and Sony 11mm, I also bought a MacBook Pro M4 for editing. Unfortunately I did not have many subjects to take photos of besides a couple family parties here and there. I’ve realized I really enjoy the process of taking good photos for a client and the editing process as well. Fast forward quite a few months I haven’t touched my camera at all and am trying to find a way to possibly make this a side job outside of my ‘9-5’ for some extra income.

How should I go about doing this? I was thinking about making a Facebook post and advertise free photography just to get a portfolio going. I’m not exactly sure what I would want to specialize in either. I would say I enjoy almost any photography or even filming.

But I honestly enjoy doing this I don’t mind doing anything for free just want to get more experience. I’m not good at coming up with ideas on what to photograph so people coming to me with work I think would be best for me to do so.

So my question is do I have the right equipment to do this? What other accessories lenses or lighting do you recommend? And what’s the best way to go about doing this?
