Feel unqualified
I have a MS in OSH and hold a CSP. My background is primarily industrial hygiene with about twenty years of experience in exposure assessment, sampling strategy, regulatory compliance, and risk evaluation.
I have not led many traditional safety programs such as injury prevention initiatives, behavior based safety, or full scope EHS management. Most of my experience has been IH management rather than general safety leadership.
For those working in EHS or hiring managers, how competitive would this background be for broader EHS or OSH roles? What gaps should I address to make the transition stronger?
