And to give some context, I am playing the game in French text/subtitles, English voices because I’m learning French. Things were fine until I get to the Kuttenberg region and you’re meeting more NPCs who are speaking half-German half-English, and the German is NOT translated even in subtitles! I don’t know if this is a mistake with the French or it’s like this in English too.

The hardest part is meeting swordmaster Menhard for the first time, where nearly 60% of his lines are in untranslated German, and it all happens to be the important info! “Go to their guild and steal ‘sqwer’ or spam thing?” I’m guessing he means sword? And why he keep calling me a “fechter”? And also notice “Ratschur” or something like that is said a lot too. The only words know is “danke, Güten Tag, and wanderbar!”

And look at the sentence above! That’s the kind of German complexity I’m getting! I must get into the \[super long German instructions\] and then hang “it” ? What it? If he’s saying the sword/swert, I don’t see the word in there!

And btw, I hope I don’t come of like some American tourist going “speak English” while abroad. I love foreign languages and cultures, and I don’t condone disgusting American bigotry and racism. It’s just that I feel like I’m missing crucial info with Menhard’s quest. It’s already hard enough playing the game in French, and gets even harder when you’re reading a French sentence with German words thrown in. So I would love to learn some basic German language to get what they’re saying

Sidenote: funny enough, the Polish guy’s line is fully translated in French even when he’s speaking Polish

[KCD2] Can I know some German basics? I’m struggling a bit in Kuttenberg (but the language sounds pretty though!)
