I'm feel lost
Hi, I'm 21 years old and I'm studying for a bachelor's degree and a technical degree in biotechnology. I feel worn out because I don't know if it's really what I want. It's an interesting field, but I have other interests I'd like to pursue, but at the moment it's difficult because of the distance to the universities, the economic situation, and the situation in the country. I haven't been making much progress in the bachelor's degree, but I have in the technical degree. However, I feel like it wouldn't be useful for an industry that's at a standstill, like it is here in Argentina. The little I know about scholarships to apply for abroad with the technical degree is practically nonexistent. And I don't want to spend eight years of my life studying for something I'm not sure about. But at the same time, it doesn't seem like the best time to change careers. But I don't know if it's worth so much sacrifice for a degree that has low income and job prospects, like others, and I have absolutely no interest in working in a lab. I have passions like art, some trades like blacksmithing, and other careers that appeal to me, focused on field biology or geology. I'd like to finish my degree, at least as a technician, but the comments I hear about my field aren't very encouraging or helpful... basically, they say there's very little work in that area here. I'd like to graduate and work in that field, at least in a way that allows me to advance, but I don't feel that way with my degree. What do you think I should do in my situation?
