Makeup safety during purging?

Routine Help

Hello, I just started 0.005% this week. I’ve used it twice and am planning to stick with 1-2 x per week to start. I did “sandwich method” with Pond’s dry skin cream. I learned from this experience that my skin has never been compromised like this before. On day 2 it started burning like hell. Today I tried to put on makeup for a job interview and it flaked off, even with primer and moisturizer first, and it burned like nothing I’ve ever felt. I had to take it off and go with just sunscreen. Later in the day I cried and my eyelids are still terribly sore.

Aesthetically, I have some acne and hyperpigmentation, which I got it for in the first place, but they worsened a bit with the tret. I’ve been applying sunscreen and moisturizer and washing my face with water and Pond’s cold cream. So basically, I’m asking, what are the best products to use when the skin barrier is this sensitive, and is there ANY hope of my wearing makeup? Or will it be at least a month before it can comfortably be applied again? Any help is appreciated.
