What happened to the 2000s-2010s trend of men not wanting to get married or have kids?

I know men like this still exist, I just remember it being a much, much bigger trend in the past. They didn’t want to marry or have kids. They might have dated around, but didn’t want to fully commit. These type of men were also characterized in media, like Barney Stinson from HIMYM (though hes more exaggerated.) Now I feel like the popular trend is for women to not want marriage or kids, so it seems like something flipped.
