Feeling Lost in My Career

Does everyone become a pro at the work they are doing in their company within six months to one year of working there? Things have become easy, but should I be compared and told to work at the same ease and pace as my manager, who's been here for six plus years?

Given that I have not previously worked in that sector, and you have about three years exp.

I overthink things, and sometimes that delays my work, as I'm not sure of what to do next and need my manager's guidance in some cases. Sometimes I can't deliver things because I'm dependent on people for whom getting back to me is the least important task.

Now I want to correct my mistakes too. How do I become a self-starter? How can I be better at decision-making? Also, when I sit for meetings, I feel like I really don't have anything to say. already I feel a sense of inferiority as I'm in the lower rung of my company - that stops me from saying anything foolish (I work in marketing for finance - though I have started liking the niche - I'm not an expert - nd I feel like myopinions just get dismissed). In addition, I love to debate and speak, but I feel like those skills have just evaporated from me - I find it so difficult to hold a conversation, and sometimes I feel like I can't clearly comprehend things to my senior management. It's like my cognitive skills have flattened out

I want to know how bad my situation really is - I really want to connect with someone who has long experience in marketing or finance. Please help me.

Also, since it's been more than a year in this company, I plan on switching companies. But my roommate, who has seen my overthinking and struggles over the year are against it. She advises that I continue here and after 40, I retire from the same company, so her point is I will again struggle at my next company and will take too much time to catch up with things.

And that is sinking to me too. But I was really optimistic until she told me that I'm not fit for a change as I'm a slow learner and overthink. However I have switched jobs and that has frequently given me opporunities to study new things - first job taught me to do website management and SEO, second - basic html coding, basic designing, video editing, video graphy, photography and paid marketing skills and current job as made me good at ppt decks, working with VVIP stakeholders, email markeitng and event management - all these I'm confident about using in my next place.

But though I have the skills, it is like I need someone to approve things, so it's not a skill issue, is it doubt and that underestimates myself from taking decisions?
