Excursion $50 credit question

If you book an excursion onboard but then decide last minute not to go, but don't cancel will you still get the $50 excursion credit?

I am looking at doing some excursion for my mexico cruise but not sure how safe it will be so might decide to back out last minute & want to make sure I would still get the $50 credit to cover the excursion.
