New GERMAN visa process? Did anyone have a similar experience at the German consulate in Karachi?

Assalam o Alaikum,

I am an A levels student who applied for a study visa through the new consular portal for a bachelors program.I already have been enrolled in my desired university, have my blocked account amount and health insurance sorted.I also have a band 8 in IELTS. My visa appointment was today and the officer took all my transcripts, birth certificate and passport but did not give me a receipt or a date to come back.He just told me to check the consular portal as the decision will be updated there and to come two business days after the decision is uploaded. Please tell me this is normal for the people who applied for the visa through the new system because I am completely in the dark and have no clue as to how long to wait.
