Need assistance for travelling in Goa

This is my first time going to Goa so I was shocked when I checked the Cab/taxi price rates.

I'm going there with my family of 4 so what would be the best mode of transportation which I won't spend my entire trip budget on.

Also underrated spots suggestions will be appreciated.
