Foley reinserted ~4 weeks post op

So last week I had my Foley catheter removed and had my pee trials. I was supposed to pee for a week and if all goes well then I’d get the SP removed at my next appt. Well there were some hard to identify areas where urine was leaking from, sent a video to my surgeon, and he advised me to just use the SP until I see him again and he may have to place the foley back in temporarily.

Saw him today and got that damn foley back in. Has anyone ever had something like this happen? I find it odd to place a catheter back into a urethra that is trying to heal. Seems like it would be counterproductive almost.
