HELP ME FIND THIS BOOK about a girl in a journalism club in highschool who must uncover the secret of a rival school!

Help! I am trying to find this book I read!!! This book is meant for middle to high schoolers!

I read this book about a girl who is on her journalism club in school as a writer and she’s supposed to write a story about a rivals schools secret or something.

She has a friend who is on the journalism club/school newspaper with her, and he used to like her but she never payed attention to him. Until he comes back more attractive after a summer, but he has a mea girlfriend!

She kisses him after he complains that the “bad boy” she’s hanging out with for a story is “no good for her and she deserves to be with someone else” (she thought he meant her, but he didn’t)

The guys girlfriend takes credit for the paper she wrote!

She ends up with the “bad boy” and when they first kiss she drops her books on her foot!
