What drivers the assumption that the prices will go down?

I managed to get some tickets through different means and while they were fairly expensive, I keep seeing people say that the prices will go down once the seats are assigned.

Now how does that work exactly? Someone gets tickets to the game they want to see in the category they agreed to, they then learn that the tickets are not super good and the view is meh/bad and they return the tickets or put them up for sale on the marketplace?

Will there really be that many disappointed people to significantly affect the prices once the market reopens?
