Phishing scam? Optimum is offering to upgrade my internet to 1Gig as a "gift"?
I received an email today and I think that it's a really really good Phish attempt. The email says that I'm due for a free upgrade to 1Gig service as a a gift. All I need to do is make an appointment to visit the Optimum store in Bridgeport. I skimmed this email at first so I missed the fact that the domain it came from is:
optimumemail1.com
And the IP range that it comes from was:
192.223.224.0/19
Which belongs to, or in the past belonged to Adobe. I didn't click through the email and I've changed my optimum password. I have to say that if this is phish, it's a pretty good one. They correlated my optimum registered email to my account number and to the closest local optimum store for me.
Has anyone else got this? Am I correct in assuming that it's a phishing attempt?
