[Day 2] Prophet Idris (AS) The man on knowledge

General Discussion

Prophet Idris (AS) was the Prophet to come after Adam (AS) and was appointed by Allah to lead the descendants of Adam because of his honesty and strong faith he was the first ever man to write with a pen learn how to sew to make proper clothing and was a leader in his community he maintained order resolved disputes and taught people right from wrong and how to worship Allah in a excellent manner. He was blessed with honesty truthfulness and wisdom and was complimented by Allah for his honesty which resulted in him being raised to a high station.

He was a level headed individual and was said to be calm and collected he loved learning and teaching and viewed these acts as a form of worship not just something to pass time. After Adam’s death corruption kept increasing generation after generation Idris (AS)’s main focus during his time on Earth was to call people away from acts of corruption. During his era people were straying away from Allah and decreasing in worship letting their nafs control them wronging each other and acting immorally.

Throughout all of this Idris (AS) remained patient Allah says “And [mention] Ishmael Idris and Dhul-Kifl All were among the patient” (21:85) he continued trying to lead others to the right path of life Idris was said to fight corruption with knowledge not with violence. After Idris’s death people remained steadfast in worship but gradually Shaytan misled them by whispering to create statues of memorable people and after a few generations people forgot why these statues were created and began to worship them instead causing shirk to become widespread and leading people to associate others with Allah.

Idris (AS) is only mentioned 3 times in the Quran and one honorable time by Prophet Muhammad (SAW) who said during his Night Journey through the heavens that he met Idris (AS) in the fourth heaven showing that Allah did raise him to a high station as mentioned in one of the verses. Some early historians mention that Idris (AS) was raised to the heavens by the Angel of Death and that his soul was taken there but there are no strongly reliable sources confirming this if there is authentic evidence for this please comment it down and if you have any more information to share or correct me please feel free to do so.
