Impact of what you wear affecting Salary & Professionalism
I've had this thought for a while now and thought I'd ask the group.
I often compare Architects, vehicle designers, engineers who often dress well in their shirts/ trousers or suits versus graphic, web, industrial designers who are usually dressed casually in jeans and a t-shirt.
Do you think what you wear to work, affects your perceived professionalism, therefore your salary?
I often see graphics, web, ID and UX/UI designers dressed like students, in very casual wear (I've seen guys in vests and shorts in an office meeting once). I know it depends on the country and company, but if we wore smarter attire, would we be taken more seriously and therefore gain a better salary?
