Stage III rectal (pCR, ctDNA negative) – 5mm lung nodule on follow-up CT

Hi everyone,

I would really appreciate hearing your experiences.

Has anyone had small lung nodules detected on CT after completing treatment, and later found that they stayed stable or disappeared?

My case:

Rectal cancer, stage III (T3a/b, initially N+, no EMVI)

Chemoradiation → CAPOX x2 → surgery (pathology: pCR, no residual cancer found)

Adjuvant CAPOX x4

ctDNA negative twice

Three months after finishing treatment, CT showed a 5 mm nodule and two smaller ones.

All three of my doctors (surgeon, radiation oncologist, and medical oncologist) are not concerned and scheduled a follow-up CT in 6 months, saying it is likely not something worrisome.

Still, I can’t help but feel anxious.

If you’ve had a similar experience, what size were your nodules and what was the outcome?

Thank you so much
