Folks who have lived long enough to know pre-call display days... any stories of crank or obscene phone calls you received?

When I was about 10, my younger brother and I received an obscene one while staying at a place where one of my parent was working for a time. Asked me to bend over and a list of things I didn't understand... i was 10. It was a small town. I think at one point they said a name, like Tammy so I suspect they thought they were calling someone specific. We didn't know what to do other than say we would call the police. The dumv thing was, we kept answering because we were worried it would be our parent calling. We went back home that night.
