I'm in a situationship with my coworker

I (23F) have been in a situationship with my coworker (26M) since August 2025. We started hooking up in October and agreed we weren’t looking for anything serious, so we stayed friends with benefits and said we’d see where things went. At first, I thought it would just be a fling, but I’ve developed real feelings. He’s been genuinely supportive—he encouraged me to re-enroll in college and pursue teaching, and he usually takes the initiative to see me. The problem is I’m scared to ask where this is going because I’m afraid he might just be keeping me around while waiting for someone “better”, I don’t want to ruin what we have, but I also need clarity. How do I bring it up?
