No sugar drinks shouldn’t exist. If you don’t want sugar, drink water.

This is probably an actually unpopular opinion, but no sugar or diet drinks shouldn’t exist at all. If you want a soft drink or energy drink, just have the real one with sugar in it. If you don’t want sugar, drink water. The fact every drink now has a million versions is dumb.

No sugar drinks are just people trying to have it both ways. You still want the sweet taste and the “fun drink” experience, but you want to pretend it’s a healthy choice. It’s not. You’re still drinking processed crap, just with artificial sweeteners instead of sugar. It still keeps you craving sweet stuff and still keeps you stuck needing flavoured drinks all the time. If you actually want to be healthier, water already exists.

And let’s be honest, they usually taste worse anyway. They’ve got that weird aftertaste and never hit the same as the real thing. So you end up with something that isn’t as good as a real soft drink and isn’t as clean or refreshing as water either. It’s the worst middle ground.

It should be a simple choice. Do you want a treat or do you want hydration. Treat equals full sugar. Hydration equals water. No sugar drinks just exist so companies can keep selling soft drinks to people who want to feel healthy about it. And yeah, I think that’s pointless.
