What’s one unexpected thing you learned after buying your first car?
When I bought my first car, I thought driving would be the biggest change and suprisingly It wasn’t. What surprised me more was everything around owning a car — the maintenance decisions, the responsibility, the random expenses, the way you start noticing road behavior more closely.
You suddenly become aware of fuel efficiency. Service costs. Tire pressure. Insurance renewals. Parking stress. Even how weather affects your drive.
No one really talks about that transition. You go from being a passenger your whole life to suddenly being responsible for a machine that needs care.
For me, the biggest surprise was how emotionally attached I got to it. It’s “just a car,” but it feels personal.
What’s something no one warned you about car ownership?
