cable wiggles in the jack

hey yall, i have a squier p bass that has always had some wiggle in the cable when it’s plugged in, causing popping sounds. the jack itself doesn’t move whatsoever. its just the cable. kinda as if the jack is ever so slightly too big for it. this was my first guitar that i got off the wall for a discount from guitar center, so i didn’t know to pay attention to this kind of thing. was just wondering if this was something i’d be able to fix without having to take it in to a shop. thanks!
