Gate Normalization

Like I was today years old when I got to know that the marks are not normalized equally to all in a set . Like a person scoring 40-50 may get +4 and a person between 55-60 may get +5 marks .
I am getting 26 marks in gate , is there any chance I will get to a cutoff threshold , can I expect +4/5 marks ?
