Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe (Air Guard) should have at least gotten the Airmen's Medal at the State of the Union

Discussion

EDIT: Please don't go off the rails with super Pro-Trump or Anti-Trump and/or Left vs Right Arguments. I'm just saying I think Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe's actions warrant more than just a Purple Heart.

Army Veteran here, I'm pretty conservative but the politicalization of the MoH really pissed me off.

If they wanted to expedite a medal for "show" I think Staff Sgt. Andrew Wolfe should have gotten at least the Airmen's Medal (for personnel who distinguish themselves by heroism involving voluntary risk of their life not involving actual combat with an armed enemy of the United States.) since it could be argued he wasn't in a Combat Zone.

His actions were Valorous (possessing, showing, or acting with great courage, bravery, or boldness, often in the face of danger or difficulty)

The MoH was approved in less than 60-days? It took me 3-years to get my Bronze Star and over 14-months before I got my Purple Heart.

It's taken me longer to get approval for 800mg of Ibuprofen when I was active duty.

Hell, the National Guardsman that got SHOT IN THE HEAD just now got his Purple Heart at the SOTU and happened BEFORE the Venezuela operation.
