Day 19 - Share Your White 3 Drops

We’re back for Day 19! I had an emergency root canal yesterday and am feeling great lol. I traded one type of tooth pain for another, but at least this pain should subside in a few days. Between that and the blizzard, what a week!

Anyways, if you want more info on this series, please refer to the original post. Yesterday we discussed Black 1 Drops. Today we’re talking White 3 Drops, a loaded section. Here’s what I run in my Legacy+ cube, 438 cards (on my way to 450), 7 or 8 on the Strix scale, basically no planeswalkers, and purposely powered-down lands:

[[Adeline, Resplendent Cathar]] feels perfect at 3 mana, a potent Rabblemaster in another color. I love that this can generate an attacking token then turn it enters. The double color pips can hurt, but that’s a minor criticism for a card that continues to help aggro and tempo go the distance. I dropped this on the battlefield with [[Kinscaer Sentry]] the other day and it felt reallll nice.

[[Elite Spellbinder]] continues the tradition of superbly designed Invitational/Championship cards. The hand disruption in white is great, and can make the difference when snagging sweepers, or combo pieces/cheaty fatties against more-powerful decks. Flying and 3-power are also nothing to sneeze at, and this is a great blink target to boot.

[[Enduring Innocence]] is another nice addition from an awesome recent  for cube, drawing cards and trading well in combat. Being an enchantment helps with delirium and goyfs, too.

[[Flickerwisp]] is a classic staple, removing opponent’s blockers/tokens while blinking all manners of your stuff. Best friends with [[Coveted Jewel]] and the absurd [[Quantum Riddler]].

[[Loran of the Third Path]] is just what White wanted in a 3 drop, a Rec Sage plus that sneaky second ability. Hard to imagine cubing nowadays without her.

[[Sage of the Skies]] recently replaced [[Monastery Mentor]] because I valued the evasion and lifelink a bit more. The weird lands package in my cube leads to a fair amount of life loss, so I like having a bit more lifelink sprinkled in. So far this card has been good enough, generating a copy token fairly consistently. The other day I faced down an army of Titania tokens made by the opponent sacrificing all their lands to [[Greater Gargadon]], which I chump-blocked with my one remaining creature. On my turn I floated mana and then cast [[Balance]] into Sage for the token, which I equipped with [[Grafted Wargear]] to promptly swing the game in the other direction. God bless cube!

[[Skyclave Apparition]] is another perfect white 3 drop: impactful, blinkable, and fits into any deck with enough white sources. 100/100, no notes, other than having to carry individual Illusion tokens for this, which is annoying, but worth it.

Notable omissions: I miss my old friend, [[Blade Splicer]], which has been power crept out.

What are you all running?

Tomorrow we will discuss Blue Sorceries
